DIY: OMBRE OMBRE!

I've just dyed my hair with the help of my mum yesterday. In the previous post, I only dyed my hair once. Then I realised I wanted it to be brighter, so I dyed a second time with another tube of dye :) And it turned out the way I wanted!!

This is taken with flash light :)

So, I wanted to dip dye my hair, so I tried out on a part of my hair first.
I snipped a small bunch then dyed them! haha. I tried dyeing with la riche directions PLUM and it appeared too dark for my liking, so I tried again on the other end of that bunch of hair with la riche directions mixed with my own conditioner. It appeared slightly lighter than before. So I went ahead with dyeing my ends!

See that slight purple tinge? :)

So, I tied my hair to where I wanted to dye until. I did this so that I could dye the same length on both sides. But if you don't want to tie and you want to do it freestyle. Go ahead :)

Then I mixed 1 : 1 ratio of la riche directions PLUM to my own conditioner (you can use any conditioner you like) The conditioner just reduces the absorption of dye into your hair. So if you want lighter hair colour, but only have dark coloured dye. USE CONDITIONER or just buy another colour :D

Be sure to wear latex gloves because this stains a lot. A LOT! And if you're doing your whole head, you can put vaseline along your hairline :) You can get vaseline at local pharmacies :)

I made sure that I covered every single strand of my hair. Then I removed my hair ties and kinda just randomly blended the dye upwards because I wanted an ombre effect.

It doesn't matter if it looks messy, because ombre is like that! ^^

So, after I was done, I covered my ends with plastic bags so I could walk around the house and do other stuff while I waited for the dye to be absorbed into my hair~~

And yes, I regret wearing my faculty shirt. I didn't know the dye would seep through the apron thingy :(

And after leaving it on for 2 hours plus, this is the result!
TADAAAAAAAA!~

I know it looks like black, but I still like it. It has that purple tinge to it. hehehe. And most importantly, it looks ombre to me :)

This is my first attempt at doing an ombre hair. If only I had the guts to bleach my hair, I would have had a brighter purple. But oh well. I will try that next time!

By the way, La Riche Directions is a semi-permanent dye, which means it will fade eventually. But it's a vegetable dye, so it doesn't harm your hair as much and it conditions your hair as well! My ends feel softer than before. hehe. I guess the reviews about la riche is true afterall :)

I'm selling them at $9.50 per tub!!
