Foodie Adventures: Carpenter and Cook!

Finally, I managed to meet my dearest Joanne and Samantha last week after 1 entire semester of hectic-ness.
Met Sam before finals, but didn't get a chance to spend time with Jo at all!! :(
Ketchup time!

We had a list of cafes to go to, and we chose Carpenter & Cook! Me and Sam are like noobies, we've never been to many cafes. Pique Nique was out first trip to an atas cafe. hahaha.

We went there the moment it opened, at 12 sharp! Kiasu right? I know :)
But it was a good thing, as it got rather crowded afterwards. And before I move on to show you all the awesome food, let me show you this!

My new violet kanken classic!
Looks like a kid's bag, I know. but who says you have to act 20 when you are 20? Young at heart :D

Moving on!

I never knew I could take such a beautiful picture with my S3 hehe.
S3 over IPhone camera any other day!! ❤
But I think it's the beautiful weather and the sunlight! ^^
Oh look at Sam and Jo trying to pose while I take this picture! awwww.

I think their name card is too adorbs!

The moment we stepped in, we were greeted by awesome looking food!!
Don't they just look delicious?

Mushroom and asparagus quiche!
I love eggs, mushrooms, onions and pie crust! So it is everything I love in a small piece of quiche!
I'm so going to learn how to make this!
Say serious. :)

Jo's hot latte.
I'd make her a bear if I was still a barista.
Gah I miss being a barista :(

My earl grey tea!
I love my tea!
How can you miss out tea/coffee on a brunch?

Blueberry cheesecake! Just the way we love it, soft! We don't like the hard cheesecake, if you get what I mean. hahaha.
This is delicious. Really. So soft! And the blueberries are like yumsss!

The cashier had no idea what was this as it was her first time seeing this. haha.
And did I mention? The cashier there today was super nice and friendly! I like (Y)

White rabbit carrot cake!
The cake was filled with raisins, nuts, carrots.
You bite into everything in every single bite, not a single bit of cake without nuts, raisins or carrots!
And, the cream is heavenly and it matches the cake perfectly
J'aime!

Passionfruit meringue tart
Never tried this before, it has always been lemon meringues.
The passionfruit filling melts in your mouth and the meringue lightens the entire taste.
But, just a word of caution, this is not something a person who dislike sweet things would like.
But I love sweet things, so yummmmss

Banaoffe
I know you must be wondering what the hell is a Banaoffe, it is banana + toffee! haha

This is how it looks like when it's cut opened!
(P.S. It tooks quite a bit of effort to cut it up nicely, as the meringue was destroyed as we couldn't cut it :( )

The top layer is the toffee flavoured cream, then a layer of sliced bananas and caramel.
The cream is kind of bland, but the bananas and caramel makes the entire tart well balanced. So it wasn't too sweet or bland.
Not bad ^^

The mushroom and asparagus quiche was so good we decided to try the other flavour!
Bacon and onions quiche.
The sad thing was that the bacon bits were too little, the fillings were not as much as the mushroom and asparagus one.
It was still delicious! I think many people don't like mushrooms/asparagus since they are considered the healthier option compared to bacon. I mean, who can resist bacon?
Anyway, this that we had was the last piece on display. So, the bacon one was more popular. Still prefer the mushroom one.
Okay, enough. LOL.

Jo ordered another pot of tea after finishing her hot latte!
She ordered dragon pearl jasmine (if I am not wrong). She prefers lighter tea :)
Pretty cups and pots!!

And after we made our tummy wummy happy, it was time to camwhore!!

LOL. I took pictures with the sugar sachet containers.

My girls and I <3

Vintage pots and kitchen utensils!

Typewriter!
Oh god, I tried to type with this because my senior (who was there too said it works) but I pressed with all my might and the damn thing wouldn't type. Sighpie
My senior said she spent 30 minutes typing a few words because she was pressing the keys super duper hard. LOL.

There! It's so pretty right? Super cool please!
And yes, I got this from her instagram! I need to learn to take pictures more artistically :(

The sink!
Don't you think that the pipe and the knobs are so adorbs?
So vintage and pretty!
And I was standing outside of the toilet, taking a picture of this, being judged. hahahah.

The other type writer that cannot be used. This looks way cooler.

Cashier!!!
Imagine using one of this today. :D

I simply love how the entire cafe looks like. All the vintage items, though random, but pretty. All the utensils are vintage as well, very european looking, which I like a lot.

Going there feels like you are there not only to eat and relax, but also to admire the pretty things in the shop. The items on display in their shop are all available for purchasing actually! So you can ask them for more information.

I am feeling hungry looking at all the pictures right now!

I am determined to search for more cafes to go to with my dear girls. Cafe khakis!

Verdict:

Anyway, for dinner, I went to Ippudo at Mandarin gallery with my hall friends!

The only photo not taken from my instagram hahaha.

Ordered Miso Tonkatsu
It costs $17.
it contains cabbage, leek, braised pork and egg with miso broth!

Yes, I love soup! Regardless of the type of soup, I love them all!
And ramen tastes the best with miso soup!
Trés bien!

And how can the meal be complete without dessert? :D
Mint and chocolate chip just because I couldn't decide which flavour to get :(

So this pretty much sums up my sinful day out today.
But we live to eat!
Maybe exercise more the next day to burn it all away.
Hey, good food makes one happy

Anyway, despicable me 2 is coming out soon!!!!

Teehee! Okai. BUHBYE~
